The car was built on January 7, 1978 in Norwood, Ohio. The first owners, George & Kathy Hamlyn, purchased the car from Cornell Chevrolet Oldsmobile in Victoria, BC on October 30, 1978. I am the second owner and purchased the car from Passport Motors in Victoria in January, 1990.
I have the original owner’s manual as well as the original build sheet which I found behind the back seat. In October, 2013 I received a Vehicle Heritage Certificate from GM of Canada. Only 964 cars in colour 48 dark blue green were imported to Canada.
The car was maintained by Varsity Automotive (Vancouver, BC) for over 25 years. During the summer of 2013 the car underwent a major overhaul. Tom (Do-4-U Autobody in Mission, BC) did the bodywork/interior and Scottie (Dun-Rite Performance Engines in Richmond, BC) rebuilt the original 305 engine. The car was appraised by John Carlson and, as it appeared on November 13, 2013, received a “No. 1 Excellent” condition.
The car is going to remain a daily driver so I added Vintage Air, a Classic Car Stereo with bluetooth, an alarm and a dash cam.
